RA was completed and released in 1990, the Year of Culture in Glasgow. As part of the celebrations RA was screened for a week at the Tramway theatre. The installation consisted of an exhibition of artwork from the film and a series of screenings in a customised projection space, with 20 foot goddess drapes on either side of the screen, and 20 tons of sand on the floor of the auditorium. To enter the screening the audience had to pass through an Egyptian doorway which was specially made for the event.

The drapes of the goddesses of Isis and Nephthys were painted on the floor of the stable area of the Tramway, from when the building housed horse drawn trams in the late 19th century.

The doorway was designed and handpainted with Egyptian imagery and hieroglyphics.
